WiMAX seems to have gotten a boost through Clearwise. Clearwise is spending $1 Billion on a WiMAX infrastructure in an apparent bid to go head to head with cable and DSL providers. Wireless broadband has the advantage of cheaper ‘last mile’ since there is no need to run fiber near the customers home, and with the bundling of satelite TV services, makes for a potent product for customers that would’nt ordinarily be within range of Cable or DSL providers.
